Enjoy a morning chip timed 5K run or walk by the shores of beautiful Lake Elmore and in full view of Elmore Mountain! This mostly flat, out and back course starts at the Elmore town garage and quickly proceeds on Beach Road past the Elmore State Park Beach House to Vermont RT 12. From there, it passes the historic Elmore Store and our one room school house (the last in Vermont). Look next to turn onto Camp Road, which provides constant views of Lake Elmore as it meanders past the beautiful lake front homes and camps that line the town maintained dirt road. At the end of Camp Road, just before the turn off for the boat launch, there will be a turn around that leads you back along Camp Road and lands you back at the town garage where there will be healthy snacks and local prizes.
Spend the rest of the day at your leisure taking in the Beauty Spot of Vermont. Enjoy the Elmore State Park, Lake Elmore, and Elmore’s end of the season block party starting at 1:00PM at the Elmore Store. And don’t forget the traditional fireworks over Lake Elmore after sunset!
As this is the first year of this race, we are taking this opportunity to change the way race swag is done. Instead of the traditional t-shirt that many races give out, we have decided to instead use all local business and vendors to help support our race. In place of a t-shirt or other non-sustainable/responsible swag, we will be gifting raffle tickets to all of the race participants. Prior to the start of the race, the participants will put their raffle ticket into the box of the prize they prefer. Then, while they run, the raffles are drawn and will be ready for collection by the time the participants cross the finish line. This way, participants get prizes that they are excited for, and our sponsors get nearly guaranteed business and target audience advertising.
Registration is free for the first 60 participants, regardless of age, from Lamoille County, Craftsbury, Greensboro, Hardwick, and Stannard thanks to a generous grant from RISE VT.
Registration fees increase on Saturday, August 24 to $20 for Youth and $30 for Adults.
